Your designs stay on your computer
A CAD file is months of design work. Culet Studio is built so it never has to leave your machine to be measured, styled or photographed.
Opening a file
Read in your browser, not uploaded
When you drop a file into the studio, your browser reads it and the studio processes it on your own computer, in background workers on every CPU core. The measurements, checks and renders are all made there.
The only thing sent to us when you open a file is a usage count: the file's format (such as 3DM) and its size in bytes. Never its contents, and never its name.
At a glance
What we see and what we don't
| You do this | What reaches our servers |
|---|---|
| Open a CAD file | A usage count: format and size in bytes |
| Read the report, style the piece | Nothing |
| Save product photos (Packshot) | A usage count. The images are made and saved on your computer |
| Export a 360° spin | The rendered frames and the title, so the embed can be shown |
| Export a live 3D view | The 3D model the viewer needs, and the title |
| Sign up | Your name, email, company and a hashed password |
Check it yourself
Don't take our word for it
- Open the studio and your browser's developer tools.
- Go to the Network tab and clear it.
- Drop in a CAD file. You'll see the small usage request, and no upload of your file.
Sharing
When you choose to share
A 360° spin or live 3D view has to live somewhere your customers can load it, so exporting one stores it on our servers. You can ask us to take any embed offline at any time, and it stops loading everywhere.
The rest of the rules are in the privacy policy and the terms of use.
